Time To Clean It Up!

Clean Up Safely After a Disaster|Natural Disasters and Severe Weather

It is that time again! Time to hit the refresh button on the things that haven’t served us since last spring. Does anyone else still do the spring cleaning thing around their homes anymore? What about in your life? I know that a lot of people do it with the new year when they make resolutions and big promises to clean up their act.

This girl is guilty because I am of those people that have to clean things up more than once a year. This is because I get into, purchase, and experience new things often. I have to make room for them to stick around if I enjoy them so other things may have to be let go.

Time For Changes

So, do you need to make some changes in your life? Physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually?  I know that I do. Depending on what is going on in my life and who is playing a primary part, it can be all of those areas that need attention. Like right now! For me, Spring is a time of renewal. Flowers and trees are blooming. The sun is shining a little more and it is warmer. I definitely need those things to happen externally in my life, but I really need the same feeling on the inside.

I went on a little vacation for my birthday and I really took some time out to check in on myself. Do you do that? I usually do “check-ins” with my family to see if the relationship feels safe for them. To check and see if I am doing everything that I can to ensure that they feel safe, heard and supported. If I am going to be honest, this was the first time that I have done it with myself. It felt great! I am so busy making sure everyone else is good that I missed out on seeing if I am good too.

So, I ask you…do you need to check in on yourself? Do you feel loved, safe, and supported by YOU? What about your career and relationships, are they in need of a little (or a lot) of spring cleaning? Are you around people that don’t help or hold you accountable to continue to level up?

I get it!!

Time To Get Busy

If we know that we are in need of a few changes, why are we not acting on them? Where is our follow-through? Risk! That is the word that comes to my mind when I think of change. Change can be scary. We are all about protecting our comfort. But really, are we currently comfortable? How are we really feeling in our space right now?

We can sometimes be all about self preservation and we will do all we know to do to protect our “crazy” comfort zone, even if we don’t like it there. I believe we do it because we already know what we are going to get. One of our basic human needs is to be certain. We like surprises, but we don’t like ALL surprises do we? So in the case of change, we may not get what we are expecting so many of us won’t even bother to change.

Time To Take A Risk

Stop Being Distracted by Cyber Threat and Focus on Business Risk

The change that we may take to love ourselves differently or start a business that has been on our heart forever is going to have some risk. We also need to look at the possible rewards that can come from going for it. If we love ourselves better, the people we love get the best version of us. Loving ourselves better also means we don’t give everything away and hand ourselves whatever is left over, if anything at all. Career change is hard but the reward of working for yourself, investing in yourself, or changing to a career that suits the life you currently want to live is rewarding in itself. You can possibly have more time to live and not just survive long enough to get the bills paid.

We have to look at change a little differently. Not as a risk. Or not JUST a risk because risk is involved.

If you think about it, if you don’t make any changes, you are taking a risk. Staying in one place with no growth, dealing with the same patterns and behaviors? Risk. Not loving yourself, or just choosing comfort over happiness is pretty risky too. Your health and well-being could be at stake. So reframe this with me. How else can you look at change? Can we call it adjustment? Adaptation (I like that one), transformation or conversion? Whatever you want to call it, do it.

Call it what you want, I know that I do not do it nearly as much as I want to. Often times many of us just do not allow ourselves the room for adaptation as we go through the different phases of our lives. I need more! WE need more! When we afford ourselves the opportunity to change, we find our hearts desires and the things that we truly deserve.

Where do you want to be today? Who do you want to be?

What stands between you and that? Change…or transformation, or movement…insert your word.

I See You!

We can go from working a job we hate to doing what we love and it doesn’t feel like work at all. What about finally loving your body, being in a fulfilling relationship, or having a healthy lifestyle? Why not? You deserve it.

Change how you see change. Be a little more optimistic. I mean, what if it all works out? Wouldn’t it be worth the risk?

What little thing can you change today to work toward that big change?
